Residential Terrace + South Melbourne, Melbourne |
Connected to a row of three heritage terraces, this renovation focused on the rear of the property and required a major ground and first floor extension plus roof deck. CHDC were commissioned once the building envelope had received planning permission to completely review the internal planning of the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry to be family friendly. To achieve an integrated approach, the work then went on to include all joinery design, fittings & finishes. The completed project now accommodates a busy family of five and is relaxed and friendly.
"I first met Chelsea in the commercial development sector where her enthusiasm for design and creating beautiful and practical environments struck me as second to none. After having worked closely with Chelsea on major construction projects, and knowing that her passion was in residential design, I engaged her to undertake the interior design works for my own home – and we couldn’t be more delighted with the results! Chelsea listens carefully to the briefing provided and has worked tirelessly with me on my home - I couldn’t have done it without her services. Her outstanding commitment and attention to detail have exceeded all expectation." Natalie BurdonIDEA 09 Awards - Finalist Best Residential Interior Single Dwelling |
Residential Apartment + South Yarra, Melbourne |
This client had long wished to own a Neo Metro apartment and commissioned CHDC to select all of the furniture, rugs & lamps and consult on placement of artworks. Referencing from the artwork, we selected bold colours and pieces to work with the strong architectural envelope yet still hold their own. All elements were lifted up off the floor to maximise the compact spaces.
“I found it very rewarding to work with Chelsea to achieve the outcome I was seeking for my new apartment. She brought a clearly articulated aesthetic which suited the clean lines of the space. The outcome is both bold and functional. Chelsea respected my views during the process but used her skills to create a splendid outcome that I couldn’t be more pleased with”. Ross Barnett |

Hospitality Fitout + Urban Burger, Hampton |

Urban Burger Hampton is the flagship store of the relaunched Urban Burger brand. CHDC were engaged to review the franshise’s brand position and develop a new concept direction that could be rolled out across Melbourne. Simple materials and strong colour were used throughout the interior to reinforce the established brand colours and a seven metre long mural was commissioned to anchor the fitout around humour.

Hospitality Fitout + Aqua Fish & Chippery, Hawthorn |
Well known in the wholesale seafood business, Aquanas Seafood initially opened AQUA as a retail store for fresh fish. Six months after opening, CHDC were asked to update the store fitout to incorporate a new fish & chippery. The store was completely replanned to address the separation between the fresh fish & cooked product and a new concept developed to give the shop a more nostalgic and friendly feel.
"From our first meeting with Chelsea Hing and subsequent meetings the professionalism and dedication displayed was exemplary. The end result has captured the essence of our endeavour. Our retail operates seven days a week. Our staff and customers jointly continue to enjoy this environment on a day to day basis. The bright and fitting elements are testament to the environment Chelsea Hing has created." Peter Cavalieros |
